Catholic parents understand they must invest themselves fully in the formation of their family. Our Church calls these families to develop a "domestic Church" (Lumen Gentium., 11) in their homes. Catholic families provide a special and unique perspective on life, faith, the development of conscience and morality. Together with their Church community, they express a thorough commitment to the life and the dignity of each human person.
The culture often does not choose these values. The current moral situation in which we live is influencing our children, adolescents, and grandchildren in ways Catholic families do not support. The uniquely-Catholic perspective on life is not only needed, but may very well help save our culture!
Catholics must be courageous and steadfast, encouraging a respect for life in every situation in which we participate.
